“Networking is a vital part of modern-day life. Our whole lives are connected, physically, technologically, and socially in a delicate network.
Just as we need to stay connected to be physically active in the modern-day world, we have to be constantly connected to the Holy Spirit to be spiritually active.”
These were the words of Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, the Resident Minister of A-Lang Worship Centre, while he was delivering a sermon at our special communion service, which took place on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the Doxa Auditorium.
Speaking on the theme, “Quickened by The Holy Spirit,” based on Acts 1:1-8, and Acts 2:1-4, Apostle Tsekpoe indicated that the human being is made up of body, spirit, and soul, and each of the three cannot be empty. “There cannot be a vacuum in our being; body, soul, and spirit. If the Holy Spirit does not occupy our spirits, an evil spirit will,” he cautioned, adding that, “an evil spirit torments but the Holy Spirit quickens.”
Reading from Acts 1:4, he expounded that “heeding to Jesus’ command, the disciples tarried in Jerusalem for ten days praying expectantly in anticipation for the Holy Spirit. This was expedient because without the Holy Spirit they would have been powerless and the gospel would not have reached all the people who came from all the ends of the world to Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.”
He added that "Pentecost means 50. It is the 50th day after the Passover. It was a festive season, which drew people from far and near, therefore, when the Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost it helped spread the gospel to all the people who came from all the ends of the world."
He further reiterated that “human connectivity and human favor have limits but the connection with the Holy Spirit empowers a man to become extraordinary, making him stand far above all principalities and powers in the kingdom of darkness.”
"Just like we need a stable internet connection to be active in the technological world, we also need to stay connected to the Holy Spirit to make a great impact in our Christian lives and possess the nations for Christ," he concluded.
