A-Lang Worship Centre Fetes Widows, Aged

A-Lang Worship Centre in the Odorkor Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a special get-together event for widows, widowers and members aged 60 years and above in the Church.

The historic event, which was graced by the Odorkor Area Head, Apostle Isaac Tetteh Judah, took place at the church premises on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

In his opening remarks at the event, the Resident Minister, Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, said the Pensions Committee of the Church first mooted the idea of organising an end-of-year party for aged members in 2021, but the event was suspended due to financial constraints. He was, therefore, grateful to God that the vision has now materialised.

Apostle Dr. Tsekpoe praised Deaconess Georgina Gyasi and Mr. Fred Selby for singlehandedly funding the event.

Exhorting the gathering with Proverbs 16:31 and Isaiah 46:4, the Resident Minister advised participants to be joyful in old age and to count themselves blessed to have attained this age because it is a blessing from God.

Apostle Dr. Tsekpoe also assured them of God’s protection and providence and encouraged them to remain resolute in the faith.

“It is our prayer that through this event, the Lord would grant you long life with good health, and also bless your children and descendants,” he said.

Apostle Tetteh Judah, in a brief remark, commended the leadership of the Church, the sponsors and organisers of the event for the great work done and for fulfilling scripture (James 1:27) by caring for widows and widowers in the Church.

The participants, over 50 in number, were treated to live music by the Classical Revival Band of the Ghana Armed Forces, as well as assorted food and drinks.

They also participated in various activities such as dancing and "Pick and Act," among others.

Also present at the event were Mrs. Olivia Tsekpoe (Wife of the Resident Minister) and Deaconess Owu Ankrah (Odorkor Area Women’s Ministry Secretary), and the District Executive Committee members, among others.

A-Lang Organises Christmas Evangelism

GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS

As part of the Christmas convention on Saturday morning, A-Lang worship Centre organised and commissioned the participants to do a One-Hour effective evangelism. The members were grouped into groups of two and were sent on their way. The reports are to be brought when they meet again in the evening.

The evangelism started at 8:10am and ended at 9:10am that same morning. It was organised by The Resident Minister, Aps Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, who also took the evangelists through an orientation using a picture book. The book aided the partakers to make evangelising easier. It was an interesting experience for all who participated.

PEACE BE WITH YOU - Mrs. Olivia Tsekpoe; Sermon Brief

 PEACE BE WITH YOU

Mrs. Olivia Tsekpoe

The day three of the Christmas convention at A-Lang worship Centre was extraordinary. The word was given by Mrs. Olivia Tsekpoe on the topic: ‘Peace be with you’. The speaker lay emphasis on the fact that, as humans, no matter what we do we’ll need peace in our lives.

She then went ahead to numerate some places well need peace in. Like; our marriages, in the home, in our family relationships, our work places and most importantly, between humans and God. Mrs. Olivia also made it clear that it is Jesus Christ that is giving us peace therefore we should not be afraid.

She then concluded by saying that we’ll need peace to face the challenges the world throws at us. The total headcount for the convention was 161, comprising of adults and children.

FULFILLING THE PURPOSE OF THE MAIN BRANCH - Elder John Kofi Koranchie; Sermon Brief

FULFILLING THE PURPOSE OF THE MAIN BRANCH

Elder John Kofi Koranchie

On the second evening -Friday- of the Christmas convention at A-Lang worship Centre, Elder John Kofi Koranchie spoke on the topic: ‘Fulfilling the purpose of the main branch’. He elaborated it by saying Jesus Christ came to the earth as a righteous branch. He again said that Jesus Christ has sent us just as the father sent him. As the 226 participants listened, he again stated that it is possible to be a branch and still be useless. He then encouraged the multitude by saying assuring that they are saviours wherever they go.

The convention, as usual, was held to win souls for Christ and also to communicate the true meaning of Christmas to the world. In view of this, an altar call was done right after the sermon and a new life was added to the body of Christ.

By the grace of God a large percentage of the officers were around.

A-Lang Worship Centre Organises Leavers' Service For Graduates

The Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM) of A-Lang Worship Centre of The Church of Pentecost has organised a Leavers' service for all students who successfully completed various levels of education this year.

The event, which was held in collaboration with the Chaplaincy Ministry of the Church, was held to thank God for successfully seeing them through their education and also orient them about life after school.

The event was chaired by the Resident Minister, Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, and also had in attendance his wife, Mrs Olivia Tsekpoe, Elder Eric Ogoe (SOM Leader), Elder Isaac Danful (Chaplaincy Ministry Leader) and Elder Richard Danso Boampong (District Youth Ministry Leader).

Speaking on the topic: "Ebenezer, That Is How Far The Lord Has Brought Us" with 1 Samuel 7:12 as her anchor text, Mrs Olivia Tsekpoe, the guest speaker for the programme, explained that "Ebenezer" does not imply an end of the journey, but rather a stage of the journey the Lord has brought them.

This, according to her, indicates that God is not yet done with them for there is a lot more ground to cover.

She, therefore, advised the graduates, especially those who are still living with or depending on their parents, to serve and respect them.

She also encouraged them to learn new skills at this time of recess as they await their results.

Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, on his part, advised the graduates to put on a good behaviour at home.

"If you make your parents happy God will bless you," he said.

He also stressed the need for them to take particular interest in their spiritual growth, saying:  "This is the time for you to serve God."

After his remarks, the Resident Minister prayed for the graduates, who comprised two Master's level graduates, seven first degree graduates, eight WASSCE graduates and 17 BECE graduates.

They were each presented a certificate of completion by the Church.
